What is the difference between red wine and white wine?
Although we all agree that their main difference, without having tasted either, is their color, the truth is that the tannins in the grapes, a substance present in the skin and seeds, are responsible for this primary difference. Other differences lie in their production process, such as the maceration temperature or the more acidic flavor of white wine.

What gives red wine its characteristic color?
The culprit behind the color difference between red and white wines is tannins, a substance that, at higher concentrations, gives rise to that characteristic red or brick-red color that we know from red wine.
