Variety
Monastrell is a Mediterranean red grape that produces wines with a very intense color and high alcohol content. Related to the French Mourvèdre, it is abundant in our lands and is one of our favorite varieties, due to its great aroma, robustness, and frank and intense flavor.
Production
The grapes were hand-harvested during the cool hours of the day with the utmost care to prevent oxidation and thus extract the aromas and colors from the skins through pre-fermentation maceration. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a temperature of 12ºC, allowing the fermentation to be controlled and stopped when the must still contains a high sugar content.
Tasting
<strong>APPEARANCE</strong>: Bright, vivid red. A very attractive color that shows the origin of fresh, not overripe, grapes. <br />
<strong>NOSE</strong>: It is perceived with a rich and abundant variety of fruity and herbaceous aromas.<br />
<strong>PALATE</strong>: On the palate, it is flavorful, juicy, fresh, smooth, fruity, and very pleasant to taste due to its silky texture. Its low alcohol content and the balance between its sweetness and acidity give the wine great harmony. <br />
<strong>AT THE TABLE</strong>: We recommend serving it at around 16-18ºC<br />
<strong>PAIRING</strong>: Enjoy with all kinds of appetizers, cold cuts, pâtés, fish, seafood, shellfish, rice dishes, and salads.
Semi-sweet wines are currently trending, as they are very aromatic and easy to drink, served chilled, and are perfect for those new to the world of wine.
