Monastrell is a grape variety with a great capacity to produce wines with high tannin and alcohol content, high tannin levels, and low oxidation resistance. It is present in almost all wine regions of the world, where it is also known as “Muorvédre, Vermeta, Mataró, Garrut, Gayata, Rossola, and others.” It has excellent aging potential and is the base wine for Fondillón.
