WHO WE ARE
Wine with roots
Mountain soul
MURO D’ALCOI · ALICANTE · FROM THE MOUNTAIN
We are a small, artisanal winery reviving forgotten vineyards. We respect the land as it has always been done and transform each small plot into a wine with its own unique story.
A different way of making wine
At Celler La Muntanya, we don’t mass-produce wine. We work with more than 25 smallholdings scattered throughout the central regions of inland Valencia—Alcoia, El Comtat, and Vall d’Albaida—at an average altitude of 550 meters, where the mountain cold and the Mediterranean sun shape unique grapes.
Each vineyard has its own character: vines ranging from 5 to 80 years old, soils that change from one terrace to the next, and native varieties rarely found elsewhere. That’s why we vinify each plot separately. So that nothing is lost. So that the wine tells the story of where it comes from.

What defines us
OUR COMMITMENTS, WITHOUT FINE PRINT
Organic farming
We work under Good Agricultural Practices (GAP). No herbicides, no chemical shortcuts. Soil health is our most valuable raw material.
Native Varieties
We rescue traditional grape varieties from the Valencian interior. Varieties that have been adapted to this climate for centuries and that you won’t find in any other winery.
Mountain Smallholdings
More than 25 small plots, managed individually and manually. The human scale guarantees a level of attention that larger farms cannot offer.
Fair Price for the Producer
We pay those who care for the vineyards well. We are pioneers in the smallholder movement and believe in an economy that benefits the entire chain.
Minimal Intervention
Fermented with native yeasts from the grapes. Aged in vats and French oak barrels. Only what’s necessary for the wine to be what it’s meant to be.
Slow Food & Culture
Members of the Slow Food Valencia movement. Because good wine is not in a hurry and is linked to the land, its history, and the people who live there.
THE ORIGIN
A territory
with its own name
We are located in Muro d’Alcoy (Alicante), in the heart of the mountains that separate the coast from the Valencian interior. An ancient, vibrant, and complex Mediterranean ecosystem, where the water of the Serpis River, the limestone of the mountains, and the north winds give life to an unparalleled wine-growing environment.
Our vineyards are spread across the municipalities of the l’Alcoià, el Comtat, and la Vall d’Albaida regions. Each one has its own soils—clay-sandy, sandy-limestone—each one has its own microclimate, each one has its own personality. That’s what makes each bottle different.
We don’t belong to any Designation of Origin. Not because we can’t, but because the D.O. doesn’t always have room for uniqueness. Our wines are certified as varietal wines and speak for themselves.
If you’re looking for a wine with a certificate of authenticity —from the landscape, the hands that made it, the exact place where the grapes grew— you’ve found it.

THE COMMITMENT
Caring for the land is caring for the wine
We are a pioneering company in the smallholder movement: we recover abandoned vineyards, replant native varieties at risk of extinction and fairly compensate the farmers who keep this tradition alive.
Our profitability isn’t just economic. We’re committed to a quadruple return: economic, social, environmental, and cultural. Because a winery that only focuses on the numbers has no future in a landscape that has been alive for centuries.
Every bottle you buy is a vote in favor of terraced vineyards, mountain farmers, and the Mediterranean ecosystem that has given us so much.
